Mrs. Chavali Pamela Osathanugrah, President of PPSEAWA Thailand, together with Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ms. Sukanya Prachuabmoh, Chairperson of the National Council of Women of Thailand, Women and Men Progressive Movement Foundation, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Child Youth and Family Foundation, and Figure and Speed Skating Foundation of Thailand, collaborated to organize a campaign during the 2024 Songkran Festival. The overarching theme of the campaign was "Safe Songkran, Thai Society Respecting Rights of Others." The event, held at the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, served as a platform for advocacy and action.

Mr. Thanasoonthorn Sawangsalee, Director-General of the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development Foundation, delivered a talk that set the tone for the day's activities. Among these activities was a campaign featuring tricycle convoys adorned with PR materials, deployed within the Rattanakosin Island area and its surroundings, to raise public awareness.

Additionally, a drama performance shed light on the prevalent issue of rights infringement during the Songkran Festival, followed by a discussion on "Creating Safety during Songkran." The primary objectives of these activities were to elevate awareness and consciousness surrounding sexual harassment issues during Songkran, underscore the fundamental importance of respecting bodily autonomy and obtaining consent, actively deter any form of harassment, and unequivocally condemn the use of violence in any context.

Central to the campaign's mission was the pursuit of inclusivity and equal protection for all members of society, irrespective of age, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. The event catalyzed collective action and collaboration among various stakeholders. It also emphasized the importance of providing support to victims of violence and sexual harassment, while simultaneously imparting education to youth about the detrimental effects of alcohol consumption, thereby mitigating its impact during the Songkran Festival.

นางชวาลี โอสถานุเคราะห์ นายกสมาคมสตรีภาคพื้นแปซิฟิกฯ ร่วมกับกระทรวงพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ นำโดย นายอนุกูล ปีดแก้ว ปลัดกระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ สภาสมาคมสตรีแห่งชาติฯ นำโดย นางสาวสุกัญญา ประจวบเหมาะ ประธานสภาสมาคมสตรีแห่งชาติฯ และองค์กรภาคีเครือข่าย ได้แก่ มูลนิธิหญิงชายก้าวไกล สสส. มูลนิธิเด็ก เยาวชนและครอบครัว และสมาคมกีฬาฟิกเกอร์และสปีดสเก็ตติ้งแห่งประเทศไทย ร่วมกันจัดกิจกรรมรณรงค์ในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ประจำปี 2567 ภายใต้แนวคิด “สงกรานต์ปลอดภัย สังคมไทยเคารพสิทธิ” ณ กระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์

โดยมี นายธนสุนทร สว่างสาลี อธิบดีกรมกิจการสตรีและสถาบันครอบครัว เป็นผู้กล่าวรายงาน ภายในงานมีกิจกรรม อาทิ การปล่อยขบวนรถสามล้อรณรงค์ซึ่งวิ่งในเขตพื้นที่เกาะรัตนโกสินทร์และบริเวณใกล้เคียง การแสดงละครสะท้อนปัญหาการไม่เคารพสิทธิในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ และเสวนาในหัวข้อ “การสร้างความปลอดภัยต่อสังคมในช่วงสงกรานต์” วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์และสร้างความตระหนักถึงปัญหาการคุกคามทางเพศที่เกิดขึ้นในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ สร้างการรับรู้เกี่ยวกับการคุกคามทางเพศที่ไม่ว่าจะเล็กน้อยเพียงใดก็เป็นเรื่องไม่ถูกต้อง และผิดกฎหมาย สร้างความเข้าใจในเรื่องการเคารพ ให้เกียรติ ในสิทธิเนื้อตัวร่างกาย ความยินยอมพร้อมใจของผู้อื่น ไม่ฉวยโอกาสลวนลาม หรือคุกคามทางเพศ และไม่ใช้ความรุนแรงในทุกรูปแบบ เพื่อให้ทุกคนในสังคมไม่ว่าจะเด็ก สตรี คนพิการ ผู้สูงอายุ หรือผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ ต่างก็มีความปลอดภัยในทุกพื้นที่ ได้รับการคุ้มครองอย่างเท่าเทียมกัน ช่วยกันสร้างกระแสให้สังคมร่วมกันผลักดัน ร่วมกันเป็นเครือข่ายเฝ้าระวัง ให้ความช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบกับปัญหาความรุนแรง ปัญหาการคุกคามทางเพศ และปลูกจิตสำนึกแก่เยาวชนให้เห็นถึงโทษของแอลกอฮอล์ การลดผลกระทบจากการบริโภคเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ และลดความสูญเสียที่เกิดขึ้นในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ในมิติต่าง ๆ
