Women Development Committee

The Pan Pacific and Southeast Asia Women's Association of Thailand (PPSEAWA Thailand), in collaboration with the Thai Catholic Women Association, Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), Ayutthaya Vocational College, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Prison, jointly organized a programme aimed at modernizing prison management and improving inmate care to align with global standards.

This programme targeted 40 female inmates and ran from July 6th to September 4th, 2023. Its primary goal was to equip inmates with the skills and opportunities necessary for successful reintegration into society, including the opportunities to do freelance jobs upon release.

During the programme, a special ceremony was held to confer certificates upon graduates who successfully completed various vocational courses. These courses covered a range of skills, including baking famous desserts, culinary arts, hairstyling, acrylic nails, and nail painting.

The event also provided attendees with a unique and enriching opportunity to hear the compelling stories of three former inmates who, following their release, established their own businesses. These individuals are:

1. The owner of a business that specializes in the construction of traditional Thai houses

2. The proprietor of an ice cream establishment known as "Ice Cream Sai Joan”

3. The delegate from the Restart Academy.

Furthermore, as part of the teams’ commitment to supporting female inmates, essential goods were provided to those who had newborns at Dan Ying Provincial Prison in Ayutthaya.

“โครงการพลิกฟื้นการบริหารจัดการเรือนจำและการดูแลผู้ต้องขังตามมาตรฐานระหว่างประเทศ” ให้กับผู้ต้องขังหญิง จำนวน 40 คน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 6 กรกฎาคม - 4 กันยายน 2566 เพื่อร่วมแก้ไข ฟื้นฟูผู้ต้องขังและส่งผู้พ้นโทษกลับคืนสู่สังคม และให้สามารถประกอบอาชีพอิสระได้ภายหลังพ้นโทษ

ในการนี้ได้จัดพิธีมอบประกาศนียบัตรให้กับผู้สำเร็จการศึกษาตามหลักสูตร ขนมอบยอดนิยม อาหารจานเดียว ออกแบบทรงผม ต่อเล็บอะคริลิคและเพ้นท์เล็บ พร้อมทั้งร่วมฟังเวทีเสวนา เพื่อสร้างแรงบันดาลใจ และการแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ จากผู้ที่เคยก้าวพลาด จำนวน 3 คน

1. ผู้ประกอบการ รับสร้างบ้านเรือนไทย

2. ผู้ประกอบการ ไอศกรีมสายโจร

3. ผู้แทนจากโรงเรียนตั้งต้นดี

นอกจากนี้ได้มอบสิ่งของเครื่องใช้จำเป็นให้กับผู้ต้องขังหญิงที่มีลูกอ่อน ณ แดนหญิงเรือนจำจังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
