Due to the current unstable and extreme climate, heavy rainfall and floods causing much of the population across the globe to migrate and compete for food and shelter. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres , addressed this as a critical issue that we all need to implement immediately to stabilize the situation and gradually improve the climate conditions. Everyone should reduce the usage of items that will reinforce global warming and have a sustainable mindset.
“Climate Action for Peace” is the theme for this year’s World peace day. Mrs. Chavali Osathanugrah (president of PPSEAWA Thailand), Ms. Amarawan Panpinij (Peace Project Chair), Ms.Ratipan Panpinij (Peace Project Vice Chair), Ms.Prapa Kanjana (Secretary) and Dr.Emorn Laowattana (Hospitality Committee Chair) organized an activity for World Peace Day 2019 to share the meaning of “peace” with the youth. This aims to build an understanding of climate factors, actions one can take to reduce climate risks, respect to migrants and abstaining the use of violence which can lead to conflict.. The PPSEAWA Thailand for Peace activity was held in Sainampeung Under the Royal Patronage of Princess Petcharat Rajsuda Sirisopaphannawadee School, situated in Sukhumvit Soi 22 in Bangkok province, amongst 380 female students in Grade 9. The activity was in the format of a Talent Show, giving the freedom to the students to showcase their talents in any way from singing, dancing, reading poetry, acting or whatsoever to illustrate their own understanding of “ What is Peace?”. There were altogether 12 teams of students who participated with creative concepts and team names such as the “Joining Friendships” team, “Little Bee of Peace” team, “The Talk show” team, “Lets unite” team and so on. Scoring criteria were given to the creativity, understanding of peace and the skills/effort. There were 4 prizes as follows:
Winner wins a scholarship prize of 3500 THB.
First runner up wins a scholarship prize of 2000 THB.
Second runner up wins a scholarship prize of 1000 THB.
Consolation prize wins a scholarship prize of 500 THB.
The talent show was followed by the white doves folding activity. The white dove is the symbol of peace. The students were given stationaries to draw and write down the meaning of peace and the messages they have received from seeing all the shows performed by their friends. They then placed the white doves on the backdrop or placed them in the garden. While the students were decorating the white doves with peace messages, there were Q&A sessions on peace for students to answer and win prizes. In the hall where this activity was held, roll ups on the history of PPSEAWA Thailand, remarks from Mr. Antonio Guterres and the themes for this year’s peace day were displayed. Specially made Peace Tee shirts were given to all students and teachers who attended the activity. Peace canvas bags were given to all as well to help reinforce the use of eco-friendly materials to help save the climate. Lastly, tools used for learning purposes from PPSEAWA Thailand were distributed.

ด้วยปัจจุบันสภาพอากาศแปรปรวนมีฝนตกหนักมากและน้ำท่วมมากยิ่งขึ้น ทำให้ประชาชนต้องอพยพไปอยู่ที่อื่น เกิดการแย่งอาหารและที่อยู่อาศัย ทำให้เกิดการทะเลาะกันนั้น เลขาธิการ องค์การสหประชาชาติ Mr. Antonio Guterrez ได้ตระหนักถึงเรื่องนี้ โดยให้ข้อคิดและข้อเสนอให้ทุกคน เห็นความสำคัญและหันมาระวังเรื่องนี้ เพื่อเป็นการป้องกันไม่ให้สถานการณ์แย่ลงกว่านี้ ให้ทุกคนช่วยกันดูแลโลกของเราด้วยการลดใช้สิ่งของที่เป็นภัยและส่งผลกระทบกับสภาพแวดล้อมและส่งผลกระทบถึงสภาพภูมิอากาศ เนื่องในวันสันติภาพโลก ปี 2019 จึงมุ่งที่ Climate Action for Peace ในการนี้ นางชวาลี โอสถานุเคราะห์ นายกสมาคมและประธานฝ่ายกรรมการสหประชาชาติ นางอัมราวัลย์ พันธ์พินิจ ประธานโครงการสันติภาพ นางสาวรติพันธ์ พันธ์พินิจ รองประธานโครงการสันติภาพ นางสุภา จิระเดชดำรง เลขาธิการ และ ดร.เอมอร เหล่าวัฒนา ประธานฝ่ายปฏิคม ร่วมจัดกิจกรรมเนื่องในวันสันติภาพโลก ปี 2019 เพื่อปลูกฝังให้เยาวชนคำนึงถึงการดูแลทรัพยากรของโลกและทำอย่างไรเพื่อที่จะป้องกันไม่ให้โลกของเราร้อนยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งส่งผลให้สภาพอากาศแปรปรวน โดยจัดกิจกรรมให้เยาวชนเข้าใจในการสร้างมิตรไมตรีต่อกัน การให้เกียรติต่อทุกคน ต่อผู้ลี้ภัยและผู้อพยพ เพื่อให้ทุกคนตระหนักถึงความสำคัญและงดใช้ความรุนแรง ซึ่งนำไปสู่การยุติการทำสงคราม และหันมาร่วมมือกันสร้างสันติภาพให้เกิดขึ้นทั่วโลก ให้กับนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 จำนวน 380 คน ที่โรงเรียนสายน้ำผึ้ง ในพระอุปถัมภ์ฯ ถนนสุขุมวิท 22 กรุงเทพฯ โดยจัดกิจกรรมในรูปแบบการจัดประกวด Talent Show เป็นการเปิดเวทีให้กับเด็กๆ ทุกคนที่มีความคิดสร้างสรรได้มาแสดงความสามารถ เพื่อชิงทุนการศึกษาภายใต้โจทย์ “สันติภาพในรูปแบบของคุณคืออะไร”
ในการนี้มีนักเรียนส่งทีมเข้าร่วมแข่งขันจำนวน 12 ทีม อาทิเช่น “มิตรภาพร่วมใจ” , .สามัคคีกันไว้” , “ผึ้งน้อยสันติภาพ” , “กลอนสันติภาพ ห้อง 6” “Talk Show” เป็นต้น การให้คะแนนจะแบ่งออกเป็นคะแนน ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ความเข้าใจในเรื่องสันติภาพและความสามารถ โดยรางวัลแบ่งออกเป็น 4 รางวัล ดังนี้
รางวัลที่ 1 ทุนการศึกษา จำนวน 3,500.-บาท จำนวน 1 รางวัล
รางวัลที่ 2 ทุนการศึกษา จำนวน 2,000.-บาท จำนวน 1 รางวัล
รางวัลที่ 3 ทุนการศึกษา จำนวน 1,000.-บาท จำนวน 1 รางวัล
ต่อด้วยให้นักเรียนทุกคนที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม “พับนก” ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องหมายของสันติภาพ และให้เด็กๆ เขียน ความเห็นว่าสันติภาพหมายถึงว่าอะไรในความคิดและความเข้าใจของเขา หรือเขียนสัญญลักษณ์ของสันติภาพ Peace logo ลงบนตัวนก และนำไปปักตามต้นไม้บริเวณเวที พร้อมกับกิจกรรมสร้างคำถาม เกี่ยวกับ สันติภาพให้ เด็กๆ ขึ้นมาตอบ ในการนี้สมาคมฯได้จัดเตรียม roll up เกี่ยวกับประวัติ PPSEAWA Thailand , คำกล่าวของท่านเลขาธิการองค์การสหประชาชาติ Mr. Antonio Guterres Theme ขององค์การสหประชาชาติ ในวันสันติภาพโลก ไปเผยแพร่อีกด้วย
ในการนี้ได้มอบเสื้อทีเชิ้ตและถุงผ้า ซึ่งเป็นสัญญลักษณ์ของวันสันติภาพ และส่งเสริมการลดการใช้ถุงพลาสติก เพื่อช่วยลดปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมและลดปัญหาภาวะโลกร้อน ให้กับคุณครูและนักเรียนทุกคนที่มาร่วมกิจกรรม
